Richard has been practicing architecture for over 25 years and is the principal of the Ottawa office of RICHARD CHMIEL ARCHITECT & ASSOCIATES INCORPORATED, incorporated in 1996.
He has been involved in a number of significant large scale mixed use and headquarters projects such the $150 Million World Exchange Plaza (Ottawa), the $25 Million Met Life Center renovation (Ottawa) and most recently the JDS Uniphase Corporate Headquarters and Manufacturering facility (Ottawa). Most recently,Telus House, at 215 Slater,Ottawa's first LEED Silver office building.
Mr. Chmiel's management skills contributed significantly in the success of the above architectural commissions, and he has consistently maintained a hands on role, facilitating the successful completion of all projects under his supervision.
